TOWARDS MILANO CORTINA 2026
Regione del Veneto
The road show “Let's Illuminate Great Beauty. Veneto - The Land of Venice” has set off from Longarone
During the opening ceremony of the immersive exhibition “Sport and Mountain between Tradition and Innovation. Cortina d’Ampezzo. The two Olympics”, held on August 28 at the Longarone Fair in front of press and all the Belluno stakeholders involved in the preparation of the Games, there was the launch of the road show “Let's Illuminate Great Beauty. Veneto - The Land of Venice”.
As part of Veneto in Action's promotional initiatives, the project includes (in a travelling campaign) the exhibition of the two Olympic and Paralympic Torches of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, donated by the Milano Cortina Foundation 2026 to the Veneto Region. This road show will visit the territories of the various provinces of Veneto and end in Cortina d'Ampezzo on 26 January 2025, when the arrival of the Olympic Torch is scheduled in the city.
The torches – called Essential for their simple profile – were designed by Studio Carlo Ratti Associati and made by Eni with Versalis and Cavagna Group. The Olympic torch is in green and blue shades, while the Paralympic torch is in bronze tones, both with reflective and iridescent finishes that bring to mind movement and sports energy. Next to them, there is also the original torch of Cortina 1956, bringing together two eras both marked by sports passion, community and a view of the future.
Considering the symbolic value of the torches and their significance as linked to the Olympic and Paralympic values of peace, inclusion and sport, the road show includes further exhibitions during upcoming events, fairs and other regional promotional initiatives linked with tourism and culture, until January 2026.
