In anticipation of the symbolic Reading Marathon Day, which this year will be on 3 October, Veneto is already warming up and getting ready in these summer months with the first literary events by Leggere per Leggere, enriched this year by marvellous literary walks (Walking Reading Parties) in evocative places.

The initiative takes place throughout the region and everyone is welcome to join other participants, along with publishers, cultural operators, teachers, professional readers and volunteers.
This ninth edition will focus on four themes. The first is snow which, with its symbolic power and poetic value, provides an opportunity to reflect on climate change. Then there are two events dedicated to famous figures of the past such as composer Antonio Salieri and Giacomo Casanova and two others dedicated to Gian Antonio Cibotto and Alberto Ongaro, leading figures of the Italian literary twentieth century who will be looked at through various lenses.
Among the novelties of this 2025 edition, it is worth mentioning the establishment of the City of the Marathon, which will be hosting crucial andrepresentative events, with a wide appeal for the entire festival.

The event is promoted by the Department of Culture of the Veneto Region, in collaboration with the regional section of the Italian Library Association – AIB Veneto, the Regional School Department for Veneto – MIM Veneto, the Italian Booksellers Association – Confcommercio Veneto, the SIL – Confesercenti Veneto, the Venetian Publishers Association, the Italian Publishers Association, the Association of Independent Publishers and Leggere per Leggere.
