"The DMO Dolomiti Bellunesi becomes a participatory foundation, a more appropriate tool for interpreting the operating methods of a modern DMO and capable of relating the governance role of the public with the operational role of private operators, thereby enabling the best use of opportunities granted by Border Municipality funds. For Veneto, it is another virtuous example in terms of governance, which follows the path taken by the Destination Verona & Garda Foundation. Providing Destination Management Organisations with a legal nature is a necessary step to bring together the skills and synergies of the world of mountain tourism in a single entity, in this case with public participation. This step completes and fully applies what is contained in the Consolidated Tourism Act, our regional law number 11 of 2013, which gave life to the Venetian DMOs”.

These were the words of Councillor for Tourism of the Veneto Region, Federico Caner, recognising the action taken by Consorzio Dolomiti as it officially becomes a Foundation with 47 members representing the Dolomite territory, one of the main pillars of the Belluno economic system.
