The Veneto Region has signed with FICTS - Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs), the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso–Belluno and the Regional School Office for Veneto, a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at promoting the values of sport and the socio-cultural significance of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as the ethical, cultural and artistic value of sport through the use of television, cinema and new media.
The project called “GenerAZIONE 2026 - Sport powered by youth and education” represents an important opportunity for educational growth for young people and will also allow to promote the cultural, artistic and entrepreneurial excellence of the Veneto area in view of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
Now in its fourth edition, the “GenerAZIONE 2026” Project - started on an experimental basis in the 2021-2022 school year, and continued with the second and third editions in the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 school years - involved an average of thirty educational institutions and about 10,000 students in primary and secondary schools each year.
The “GenerAZIONE2026” training project is part of the Gen26 Education Programme of Milano Cortina Foundation 2026, which officially recognises the activities of FICTS in schools.
“Sport as a training and social vehicle” is the motto of the “GenerATION2026” Project, providing an opportunity to bring young people closer to the Olympic and Paralympic values, training aware citizens and protagonists of an inclusive and sustainable future. Sport thus becomes a powerful tool for personal growth, integration and promotion of psychophysical health to leave a lasting cultural and social legacy after Milano Cortina 2026.
