Agri-food Strategic Plan V
Veneto boasts several records with regard to quality agri-food products. In fact, it has 53 DOC, DOCG and IGT wines and 36 PDO and PGI agricultural and food products; it also counts on the activity of about 4,000 operators who implement organic farming methods.
The Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games are an opportunity to provide visibility and knowledge of our agri-food excellence to the community, also through the participation of operators in a series of promotional activities (fairs, events, etc.). Agricultural and food products with a designation of origin are linked with quality, characteristics, reputation and geographical origin.
The Agri-Food Directorate intends to enhance these excellences directly in the place of origin, as a tool for promotion of the territory also for tourist, cultural and historical purposes.
Strategic objectives:
- Enhancement of PDO – PGI – TSG quality and organic products
- Promotion of the Veneto region linked to food and wine excellence
- Increased visibility of the dynamism of Venetian entrepreneurs
- Support and relaunch of the agri-food production system
- Enhancement of the sector's sustainability pathway (F2F, 2030 Agenda).
Stakeholders:
- Consortia for the protection of agri-food products and wines
- Producer Organisations (POs) and their associations
- Venetian entrepreneurs (young farmers)
- Operational groups (OGs) of the European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability (EIP-AGRI)
- Food and agrobiodiversity community
- Food districts
- Local Action Groups (LAGs)
- Research and training (universities, research centres and agricultural technical institutes)
