In defining regional policies on sport, the 2022-2026 Multi-year Plan for Sport has traced a broad path of promotion and enhancement of sport among all citizens, in anticipation of this great event.
After all, it is well known that Veneto is a region with a strong sporting history, being the birthplace of many athletes and glorious sports clubs.

Thanks to its geographical features, our territory lends itself to any sporting activity, both competitive and amateur, and plays host to major events including the Venice, Verona, Padua and Treviso Marathons. In the recent past, Veneto has hosted other major sports competitions, including the 2021 Alpine World Ski Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

The organisation of the Olympics provides a great opportunity for growth for the whole Veneto region, especially in sports, with a positive and relevant economic impact on the territory and structural works that will remain available for the community.
