Aria_Testo contenimento emissioni

In view of a per capita emission not significantly different from that of other European countries, it is still difficult to comply with the regulatory standards on air quality established by European Community and national legislation, in particular with regard to particulate matter, due to the particular conformation of the regional territory.
However, it should be noted that air quality has shown considerable improvements in the long term. While until a decade ago it was frequent, especially in large urban centres, to exceed the annual limit value for nitrogen dioxide, the concentration of this pollutant has now respected this limit throughout the Region for a three-year period. Improvements have also been seen for PM10 particulate matter, for which the annual average limit value is respected and there has been a decrease over time in the days on which the daily limit is not respected.

This improvement is accompanied by a constant reduction in CO2 emissions, so much so that Veneto is among those regions that reached the Kyoto Protocol target a few years before 2020.

The Regional Administration, aware of the scientific results and evidence of the impact that air pollution is causing on its territory in all physical-biological and socio-economic sectors, in a deeply interconnected manner, and of the anthropogenic contribution to the phenomenon, intends to pursue the objective of constant and ongoing improvement of air quality by containing the sources of pollution in various areas (energy, transport, construction, industry, agriculture, etc.) until the objectives set by European and Italian legislation are achieved.
