Veneto is the "European Region of Sport 2024", a recognition conferred by ACES Europe. This non-profit association operates at European level for the promotion of sport at all levels, confirming that sport in Veneto represents an instrument of well-being, integration, education and respect, fully aligned with the values pursued by ACES itself.
The title was officially conferred on 7 December 2023 in Brussels during a gala held at the European Parliament.
The awarding of the title represents a great opportunity to strengthen the image of Veneto as a territory with a strong sports vocation, and to create an international showcase aimed at disseminating the cultural, sports, landscape and food and wine heritage of the Region, also in view of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
